NSW Left General Meeting May 2014

The NSW Left will be meeting on Monday 19 May. On the agenda will be a discussion about our policy priorities for NSW Labor Annual Conference, and in particular a dedicated conversation about refugee and immigration policy.

Phil Glendenning from the Edmund Rice Centre, a renowned community leader and activist in this area, will address the meeting.

There are many challenging elements in our policy towards people seeking asylum in Australia. One of those was recently addressed in this thought-provoking article by our Queensland comrade Murray Watt, a former Left MP and now progressive lawyer. I encourage you to read it before the meeting.
