I was brought up to believe in egalitarianism and the inalienable right to equality of opportunity. When I attended Gough’s “Its Time” launch at Blacktown in 1972, the course of my life was changed.

The ALP has become a life-long passion and guiding light of my values.

I’ve received the McKell Award, been a Delegate to Country and State Conferences, SEC Chair and Delegate. I was a candidate for the State South Coast seat in 2007. In 2010 I was the Campaign Director for the Federal seat of Gilmore. I am currently President at St Georges Basin and Jervis Bay Branch and a member of the USU.

And I’m the NSW Left candidate for Senior Vice-President.

The Australian Labor Party is not only a great institution devoted to socio-political reform. It is the guardian of and protector of those who do not have a voice. Therefore in order to restore credibility we must change. We must be open, honest and transparent, particularly in a national climate of public distrust of all things political.

I’ll be attending the NSW Left meeting on Friday 18 July, 5.30pm, Trades Hall Auditorium, Sussex St, Sydney.

I hope to see you at this event.

Together, we can change NSW Labor.
